Just who does this unelected EU Commission President think she is?

Queen Ursula goes into full globalist control mode at Davos ‘World Economic Forum’

The unelected EU Commission President seeks to shut down all dissent

In an extraordinary speech on Tuesday at the private gathering of the rich in Davos, Switzerland, the unelected German EU Commission President made clear her globalist control agenda.

I am fundamentally for changing the direction of unelected international bodies, and I am revealing just how bad things have become. I once again stand up for ordinary people with normal, decent values in this report.

I am writing this while I still can before I am shut down.

  • World Health Organisation (WHO)
  • United Nations (UN)
  • International Monetary Fund (IMF)
  • Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD)
  • World Economic Forum (WEF)

Let’s start with what ‘Queen Ursula’ told her rich friends in Davos

The ‘World Economic Forum’ (WEF) which meets behind strong security in Davos has no democratic legitimacy whatsoever. The rich fly in, in their private jets, from across the world. They have private discussions and set all manner of policy objectives, with no regard to the democratically-expressed views of the public in any of their own countries. The WEF is an autocratic institution and in our view should be abolished.

Ursula von der Leyen’s speech in Davos focussed on the need to control ‘misinformation’ and ‘disinformation’ — precisely the things of which I have consistently called out the EU Commission as being guilty. I have shown this time and again using the EU Commission’s data and statements.

Mrs von der Leyen started her speech in Davos thus:-

“Dear Klaus, your annual Global Risk Report makes for a stunning and sobering read.”

‘Klaus’ Schwab is the self-appointed head of the World Economic Forum and a millionaire. The WEF’s ‘Global Risk Report’ has no more weight than any other report I read from various think tanks. It is based on assumptions and forecasts, none of which are subject to rigorous government standards.

Von der Leyen continued

“For the global business community, the top concern for the next two years is not conflict or climate. It is disinformation and misinformation, followed closely by polarisation within our societies. These risks are serious because they limit our ability to tackle the big global challenges we are facing: changes in our climate — and our geopolitical climate; shifts in our demography and in our technology; spiralling regional conflicts and intensified geopolitical competition and their impacts on supply chains.”

Readers will note that the EU Commission President’s main thrust is on the concerns of Big Business.

“The sobering reality is that we are once again competing more intensely across countries than we have in several decades. And this makes the theme of this year’s Davos meeting even more relevant.”

“This is the time to drive global collaboration more than ever before. This requires immediate and structural responses to match the size of the global challenges. I believe it can be done. And I believe that Europe can and must take the lead in shaping that global response.”

By ‘Europe’, she means the EU, which is not the same thing

“The starting point for that is to look deeper at the [WEF] Global Risk Report to map out a way forward.”

I don’t understand why this should be anyone’s starting point. This is just a think-tank report based on the interests of Big Business.

“Many of the solutions lie not only in countries working together but crucially on business and governments — business and democracies — working together. It has never been more important for the public and private sector to create new connective tissue. Because none of these challenges respect borders. They each require collaboration to manage risks and forge a path forward.”

In short, the President of the EU Commission — the sole EU body able to put forward legislation — says she believes in ‘global collaboration’, meaning open borders. She is also saying that her policies will be driven by a report from an unelected organisation accountable to no one.

Exactly who does this woman think she is? She’s unelected and represents no one

‘Queen Ursula’ — as she now seems to think of herself — is president of a very large body of technocrats and bureaucrats based in Brussels. None are elected nor subject to accountability to the electorate.

She has no popular mandate and was parachuted in at the last minute by former German Chancellor Angela Merkel, over the heads of the EU Parliament. By all German media accounts, they were glad to see the back of her, as she was regularly referred to as the worst government minister in Germany.

Most worrying of all — silencing us and silencing you

The most worrying thing of all in this extraordinary speech was its focus on dealing with ‘misinformation’ and ‘disinformation’. This is the technocratic term for shutting down freedom of speech and ideas.

In recent years I have called this out over and over. Now it has become quite brazen. ‘Big Sister’ will shut you down unless you spout the agreed party line.

No. No. No. (In the words of a UK stateswoman to the EU many years ago.)

What was this woman doing in Davos in the first place? She has no democratic mandate from the people of the 27 EU countries. She is merely a functionary.

Secondly, the gathering at Davos is composed of the elites and the super-rich. The WEF has no democratic legitimacy whatsoever.

Even more disturbing was the main thrust of von der Leyen’s speech: the shutting down of dissenting voices. One woman’s ‘misinformation’ and ‘disinformation’ is the common person’s “freedom of expression”. If this is to be banished in the EU — as I have been warning about for years — then heaven help the 440 million citizens who live there.

And thank goodness for Brexit.

What is life without a little controversy in it? Quite boring and sterile would be my answer.
